I have started this thread to Discuss the various questions and its answers, the strategy you all Followed, the expected top score, the mistakes each one of you made and how we could have maximised our scores

In short the Whole analysis of PREP CET #3 tht was Held on 14th Jan 2007

Good Surprise was a three Passage combination in Prep CET 3

Usually in the first two we found a single passage with 10 questions

Here it was devided into a 3Passage combination making things a bit difficult

Also the Math Puzzles were a bit tough in this paper where i feel we were required to match one semicircle to the answers in the other......
Wat made things more difficult was that even if we get a good logic sequence between the two half circles we werent exactly sure wat can be done with the last walue if the first semi circle was related to more than one values in that part.....
eg. the puzzle with 4*5 , 5*6 , 6*7 ......logic..... here we werent sure 7* (?)...as the logic forced us to see that each number was multiplied with the number in the next sector...... after 7 it was a 20 so cant the answer be a 140 but none of the options had it !

yup, logic was a bit difficult.... managed 115 genuine attempts! sir, in the analysis please also ment the score of the first 10 rankers if possible.

yaa.......it ws a surprising ppr with soo much of quant....i found it a bit time consumin though....ws amazd to find no coding decoding type alphabetic puzzles.....n i realizd tht i am still in a mess whn it cums to syllogisms.......attemptd jus 5....overall.....lots of scope to improv

PREP CET 2 - Att - 130 [+70 wild guesses]=200 Scr - 96
PREP CET 3 - Att - 150 [+10 wild guesses]=160 SCR - 119 [am not sure !.... it shud have been higher ? ]

It's good that we discuss all our Prep-CET scores and attempts here ....

Here's my record:
Genuine Attempts-Tukka-Score
Prep-CET 1: 130-70-106
Prep-CET 2: 140-60-111
Prep-CET 3: 170-30-129

The rise in my score is due to decent outcome in Syllogisms and Visuals.

Do we discuss questions here as well ???

this syllogism toh still a mystery for me..........n i found visuals a bit tuff in this prep.......my overall genuine attempts around 150.....wht u guys think bout the difficulty level of this mock as compared to previous two.....?? i mn my scores hv been lik 115.......125......134.....guys r the mocks gettin easy or me improvin ....im seriously confusd!!!! pls help

mine ws 142 geniune attemps n score is 119.... but i cudnt fill all the KANAS :( :(
so i guess score cud be improved a lot...
but guys i really screwed up in syllogisms...:eek:
most of my rong attemps r frm dis section...

Good idea Ronak. Of course, this will send our tech and database team into a tizzy. But, let me quickly see what we can do about this.

Re: scores being different from what you expected, there are only 2 explanations I can think of: (i) You marked one answer choice but thought you marked a different choice (ii) You marked one answer answer, but there was a scanning error (due to the nature of your oval-filling), and the answer choice was recorded as something else. I know, I know, that sounds horrible. But, it happens all the time in real exams too :eek:

But, back to the question by question idea. Let me see what I can do :)

1. some data is missin (data inadequate)
2. a particular condition is violated.

If as per Criteria if a person has to get fulfilled to say 5 conditions and data about any 4 conditions are given thn u dont know whether he satisfies the fifth or not ..... so u can say data inadequate
******* IMP : But remember if from the given 4 conditions any one violates the candidature thn u definetly have to mark Rejected as then although any other conditions exists and he even fulfills them then too he is gonna get rejected.....simple right ?


2. a particular condition is violated.
If a condition is violated and this condition doesnt exist in the list mentioning a consideration for such conditions (eg if he has not got 60 % but has managed >80 marks in maths then consider his case with the principal) then it is definetly REJECTED

Hi Anuj,

In Eligibility Criteria, one should be able to differentiate between 1. Necessary Conditions (the ones that do not have any waivers) and 2. Sufficicient Conditions (the ones with waivers).

If any of the Necessary Conditions are violated then the answer is 'Rejected' irrespective of whether one or more of some other data is missing.

If any of the Sufficient Conditions is missing then the waiver condition must be satisfied for the candidate to get selected. If the waiver condition is also violated then the candidate is 'Rejected'.

However, if at any point of time your decision of the candidate is awaiting because of the want of some data, then is 'Data Insufficent'. Note that, if you are able to take the decision on that candidate, inspite of the missing data then go ahead and take the decision!

To cut it short, "Data Missing" does not mean "Data Insufficient"!

Hi Yazad,

Be rest assured, out CET's are very much on the same lines as the actual CET's - both pattern-wise and also difficulty-wise!

The faculty members at Peak Seekers have been taking CET's for the past 7 years and have tracked the CET questions closely (including the ever confusing Visual Reasoning Q's). Un;ike CAT, the good thing about CET is that it had hardly undergone any change over the years, and is very much predictable.

Infact, you may check for two things:

1. The comaparative scores of our last years achievers in the actual CET and our PrepCET's (what you get in your personalized report card). In the first three tests at least they had scored less marks in our PrepCET's compared to what they scored in actual CET's. One of the factors contributing to this may be the fact that the actual CET-2006 was even more easier than our tests!

2. If you look at the CET-2006 discussion on this forum (that our students indulged in on the CET day last year), one of the students had actually commented that the actual CET seemed like yet another Prep-CET from Peak Seekers, reiterating that the papers are actually on the lines of actual CET's.
