Congrats Anupam! You are tentalisingly close to getting Bajaj, though not safe! I believe anyone with 165 or more is a safe bet for Jamnalal Bajaj. It must be releiving that you have pocketted TISS!
As regards your question of when are the ranks going to be put up? I really do not know! This is the first time that DTE has done such a thing - i.e. putting the overall score without the ranks! Maybe, by Friday we should know about our ranks as well.
Infact, this is the first time that DTE has been so secretive about the entire process! For example till last year the CET prospectus used to display each and every date for the next course of action. This year, the students are still wondering - what next?
I guess the next step is to fill the "Online Option Form" that requires you to fill the preferences of 15 colleges that you intend to seek admission!
For the benefit of the students, I will post this as well in a different thread.

Hi,
Everyone will have his own set of reasoning as to why he should select a particular college over others. However if you have none, here is a list of 15 colleges (in that order) that you could fill in your "Online Option Form":
1. MB303 - Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies
2. MB311 - Sydenham Institute of Management Studies (MMS Programme)
3. MB304 - K. J. Somaiya College of Management Studies
4. MB308 - Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development
5. MB338 - Sydenham Institute of Management Studies (PGDBM Programme)
6. MB313 - N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies
7. MB310 - S.I.E.S. College of Management Studies
8. MB302 - Chetana's Institute of Management & Research
9. MB307 - MET's institute of Management, Mumbai
10. MB314 - Indian Education Society's Management College
11. MB305 - Lala Lajpatrai Institute of Management
12. MB309 - Rizvi Institute of Management Studies
13. MB312 - Vivekanand Education Society's Institute of Management
14. MB321 - Thakur Institute of Management Studies
15. MB337 - St. Xavier Institute of Management Studies
Though it does not make any sense to compromise on any institute below preference 10 (A PG from a better institute is worth more), if you are desperate enough to do your MBA this year itself, you may include some of the collges that I have missed out on!
NOTE: Once you submit the "Option Form" online, it is mandatory to confirm your submitted form at the ARC (the place where you had filled your CET form in February). Without this physical confirmation, your "Option Form" will not be considered for the process of allotment of colleges.

hello sir, cud u plz post the predicted cut-off's for the top ten colleges......
Hi Shashank,
Though it would be extremely difficult to predict the cut-off's without the actual ranks, here is a good ball-park:
Jamnalal Bajaj: 166
Sydenham / Somaiya: 159
Welingkar: 154
Sydenham PG: 151
Dalmiya / SIES: 145
MET / Chetana: 140
IES: 136
(Ideally there would be many students at each score as you go lower down. But the reason there is a huge gap in the cut-off scores of lesser known colleges because many students opt out of admissions if offered these colleges!)
NOTE: This is just for reference sake. I might change my stand on cut-off's once the picture is clear.

hello sir kumar here sir what this provisional merit list which is despalyed on 21st june after that list can we take admission or after this list optinal forms n all fill it plz give guidence about that process
Manish Salian
14th June 2007, 11:42 AM
Hi,
Here is the admission procedure from this point (STATUTORY WARNING: Read at your own risk! Highly Confusing!! :o )
Centralized Allotment Process: Round 1
1. Fill in the Online "Option Form" and confirm the same at the ARC. (Dates yet to be announced by the DTE)
2. You will be allotted a college based on your "Option Form", Merit Rank and Availability of seats in various colleges. This will agian be displayed at the DTE website.
3. In case you need to seek admission to the allotted college, you need to take the printout of the displayed allotment, the necessary original documents and full fees and confirm his admission at the given college. This has to be done within certain number of days after you are alloted the college (Dates yet to be announced by the DTE).
4. In case you fail to confirm admission to the alloted college before the given time period you lose your claim to the allotted college.
NOTE: In case you have secured an allotment out of the First Five Options of your "Option Form", you will not be eligible for subsequent rounds of admission if you fail to confirm your admission at the college.
Thus, in case you have been given the allotment from your First Five Options, it makes sense to secure admission as not doing so would result in you being out of the race from CET.
Centralized Allotment Process: Round 2
This round is for candidates who have secured an allotment:
(a) in college that was not in their First Five Options and had not secured admission in CAP - Round 1.
(b) in college that was in their First Five Options, and had secured admission in CAP - Round 1 just for the sake of being in the race for a better institute (and are not satisfied with their allotment in CAP - Round 1)
5. You should first pay a processing fee of CAP - Round 2, Rs.100/- in cash at the ARC and obtain a receipt for the same.
6. Fill up a new "Option Form", this time with 20 options. Confirm this new "Option Form" at the ARC.
7. The rest of the procedure is like CAP - Round 1. The only difference this is that in case you have been allotted a college from your First Seven Options you need to secure admission into the said institute or else you would be out of the race from CET.
Centralized Allotment Process: Round 3
This is exactly similar to CAP - Round 2 and is meant for candidates who have been given allotment
(a) in college that was not in their First Seven Options and had not secured admission in CAP - Round 2.
(b) in college that was in their First Seven Options, and had secured admission in CAP - Round 2 just for the sake of being in the race for a better institute (and are not satisfied with their allotment in CAP - Round 2)
8. You need to again pay up Rs.100/- in cash and fill up a third "Option Form", this time having 25 options. Also, again confirm this "Option Form" at ARC.
9. The rest of the procedure is like CAP - Round 2.
10. In this round the candidate has to confirm admission to whichever college that is allotted to him, otherwise he would be out of the race from CET.
 In case you are confused, so am I???
I don't know, till when will this process go on, and how many times you may have to visit ARC? I hope in February, you had not filled up your CET form at an ARC that was out of the place (Eg. Vidyalankar College at Wadala) just to avoid crowd. You may have to visit this place many a times in the next few months :)
All the Best! Happy CAP-ping!! Happy ARC-ing!!!

Hi,
So finally DTE has put up something - the provisional schedule of admission process. You can get it on the following link:
http://www.dte.org.in/notice/Shedule-MBA2007_new_18.06.2007forWEB.pdf
Here is a summary of the same:
21-Jun (5.00 pm): Display of provisional Merit List
3-Jul to 9-Jul: Submission of Online "Option Form" and confirming the same at ARC
14-Jul (5.00 pm): Display of allotment of colleges of CAP - round 1
15-Jul to 18-Jul (5.00 pm): Reporting to the allotted college and confirming admission in CAP - round 1
20-Jul (3.00 pm): Display of institute-wise vacancies (seats not filled)
After 20-Jul starts the CAP-round's 2 and 3. And when will college start? Only DTE can tell! Enjoy your vacations!

Hi Mubin,
As you can see in my next post, you stand a very good chance of getting admission to IES or Dalmiya!
But my suggestion is, do not tamper with the "Options Form", as this will ruin your chances of getting into the best college.
For eg. Let us say you fill in IES as your first preference, and you are allotted IES. Now, since this institute forms a part of your first five preference, you make have to seek admission to this. Instead, you could have also tried your luck with a better institute in CAP - Round 2!
So my suggestion is, keep your "Options Form" the way I have suggested - with best colleges first!! You will anyways get the best institute that you were supposed to get at your ranking!

Manish Sir

Hi,
After having gone through the final merit ranks of students, here is what seems to be the likely cut-off scores for different institutes:
Jamnalal Bajaj: Score: 166 (Approx. State Merit rank: 41-46)
Sydenham (MMS): Score: 163 (Approx. State Merit rank: 95-100)
Welingkar: Score: 158 (Approx. State Merit rank: 180-190)
Somaiya: Score: 156 (Approx. State Merit rank: 250-260)
Sydenham (PGDBA): Score: 155 (Approx. State Merit rank: 270-280)
SIES: Score: 151 (Approx. State Merit rank: 450-470)
Chetana's: Score: 150 (Approx. State Merit rank: 500-525)
MET: Score: 150 (Approx. State Merit rank: 530-560)
Dalmiya: Score: 148 (Approx. State Merit rank: 600-630)
IES: Score: 146 (Approx. State Merit rank: 720-750)
NOTE:
1. These estimates have been computed by analysing this years results and last years allotment. Though these scores seem to be a fair estimate, the cut-off's may wary by 1-2 marks depending on a candidate choosing one institute over the other.
2. The State Merit ranks are the likely estimates of the ranks of the last student admitted to each institute.
3. The scores are the estimates of the last candidate admitted to each institute after CAP - Round 3. There is a possibility that after CAP - Round 1, students with scores below 153-154 may not get an allotment in the 10 institutes mentioned above. But with students dropping out (look at the gap in the merit ranks between Sydenham PG and SIES) after CAP - Round 1, even a student with a score of 146 may end up getting into these 10 institutes (In CAP - Rounds's 2 & 3).

Hi Kartik,
As you can see from my cut-off prediction, at a score of 141 you should not be getting any of the top 10 institutes.
But still my suggestion is that you should live through all the three CAP Rounds so that you can finally get the best college to choose from, before you can decide to take it or not. See predictions are after all predictions! Who knows, if the students turn out to be more conservative this year (compared to last year), you may get something good at even 141 :)
As regards other colleges that you are mentioning about, I have my own apprehensions for them. I hope you have applied to PG programs at Welingkar and Dalmiya's! These two options would be better than any other college that you would get through the CAP Rounds!
All the best.

Hi,
Here is the admission procedure from this point (STATUTORY WARNING: Read at your own risk!

Manish Sir
Hi,
There is a slight clarification in the procedure that I had written earlier. The change is that in case you are allotted a college from the five options of your options form (of CAP Round 1), then your name will be deleted from the further rounds irrespective of the fact that you take that institute or not!
Thus even if you are not satisfied with the allotment, you still may have to secure the seat or else you will be out of the process (if the allotment is one from your first five options)!
This is also true about the institutes from the first seven option in the CAP Round 2!
What this does is a mockery of the entire admission process, as there is a possibility that a lower ranked student may end up getting a better college in CAP Rounds 2 and 3, if these seats remain vacant after Round 1.
So fill up your "Options Form" very judiciously! All the best!

Manish Sir
