1>in maharashtra many farmers from vidharba region recently commited suicide. the main reason for this is debt problem faced by them.
2>although the govt has made many provisions to protect the farmers but still that remains noting just meare an eye wash.
3>although the govt. has announced many policies like credit card for farmers and other agricultural benefits still this has not reached all farmers :(
4>even in the budget the fm has mentioned about a loan waiver of rs.60000 crores for the farmers.but at the samw time has not mentioned the land holdings for which the loan has been waived off.
5> also govt encouraged co-opreative farming which has not been successful at the same due to the large farmers lobby.
6>indian economy is still an agrarian economy and still depends on rain but it is mockery that govt spends huge amounts on irrigation facilities every year and the allocation for the farming sector has been increasing at an considerable rate.
7>in some cases where ploughing animals are not available there humans are used.
8>the avg hectare holding in india is about less than 2 hectares which will not allow mechanised farming to be carried

8>the famers mostly take money from money lenders who charge high rates of interest and also failure of payment leads to loosing their land to the money lenders.
9>the time taken to disburse the loan by the banks is more.
10>the marginal and the small farmers do not have sufficient funds to improve their per yield hectare.and also as compared to other countries india's per yield hectare is low.
11>also the farmers are also exploited by the middle men involved in the process of selling their produce.according to the survey conducted by dr.sidhu only 47 paise of the benefit reaches to the farmers.

solutions-
1>there should be revision in the terms and the conditions for obtaining the loan.
2>the disbursement of loan should be made soon such that it will avoid the farmers to take refuge to money lenders.
3>the govt must insist the farmers to take loans from the govt recognised banks.
4>there should be poen market scheme to be started so that the farmers can get good amount for their produce.
