The eligibility for taking CAT has changed to a minimum of 50% in graduation from just a pass class. All six IIMs have taken the collective decision to fix the academic eligibility to take the Common Admission Test at 50 % in the Bachelor's exam.

Hi,

Yes, that is true! Now, you need to do well in both CAT as well as your graduation - that would be a tight rope walk!

The good news is that this rule is going to be implemented from CAT 2007! So present students need not bother much - simply concentrate on your preparations!

Also, these is proposal to conduct CAT in two phases (similar to what IIT-JEE used to be) - CAT Prelims and CAT finals. All applicants would first take CAT prelims. Among these 60,000 students would be shortlisted for CAT finals! Interesting things ahead. But for CAT 2007.
