Hey Everyone

Actually
hey the few people who did turn up for the PrepCAt 9;)
How was it for you guys?

With regards to the English section, i personally thought the RC section was a little vague though the one mark eng questions were quite cool.
The Math section was tough for lesser mortals like yours truly, but i should think the Engineers did well there, as usual :)
As for the DI section, man! it was'nt that tough. But it required a lot of meticulous calcutaion. As usual, i goofed up here:)

On the whole, not as bad as i had expected.

Anyways, what did you guys think about the paper?
I also have a few doubts in the Math section, need help there. Anyone game?

Cheers
Nisha

I think the question of 5 segments was a little tougher than it seemed; there were two questions based on the data given in the question (for 3 marks each:eek:)
I think the question was like this:

E was the midpoint between A and C, distance AB was 15, AE was 6.5, BC was 12 and CD was ???. BE was 1 unit short of DE . All the lines were segments.

Can someone help me with this ???

Thanks in Advance ...

Hi Kumar

Unfortunately my poor math skills allow me only to post queries and not answer them :)
So, i guess you'll have to wait for some enlightened soul to help you wid that questions.

BTW, were there any 3 mk questions at all cos i did not see them?

Nyways,
Lots of doubts in Math
1. What the hell was that set of 2 mks functions sums all about???????????????

2. The curved surface area of a cylinder of lenght 2h inscribed in a sphere of radius R is max when h= ?(god knoes wat!)
i marked 2r as the answer as i thot if the diameter was the ht., then the curved surface area would be the max.
But then again, if th diametere was the heigth, the circumference of the flat surface area of the cylinder would be really small, rite?

Someone, pl enlighten me?

Also, question no 88 about happy triplets being those where each non-zero real no. is a product of the other two was difficult.
I came up with two such triplets
1,1,1
1,-1,-1

Please help me solve this one

Cheers

Hi Sir

Thanks for your help. Shall speak to you in person to take this forward.

Anyways, i think it is because of this personalised attention that i joined Peak Seekers and i beleive that it is one of the few sensible things i've done in my entire life:)

BTW sir i think you will be glad to know that in the Math 2 mks sums, i tried 6 and got 5 right. I somehow just need to be able to progress from here and not regress.

As for everyone else, have'nt heard nything abt the paper from you guys!
Or maybe, everyone's jus waiting for their 99 percentile result to be SMSed;)
Anyway mates...keep posting

Cheers
