Hi Ankita,

Nice to see you online! Welcome! I will now welcome every new member who comes to the forum (just to encourage participation).

Here is the information about TISS:

There are Four rounds of selection:

1. :D Objective type written Test

115 Q's, 150 marks, 90 min., Negative Marking: -1/4 of weightage per question.

Areas Tested:

Quant : 50 Q's x 1 mark,
DI : 15 Q's x 2 marks,
Business Awareness : 30 Q's x 1 mark,
Reasoning: 20 Q's x 2 marks.

Level of Difficulty: Very easy (CET level)!

2. Subjective Type Essay: (45 min.)

This years topics: (Choose any one)

1. India as an emerging market - Problems & Prospects
2. Globalisation - Good for rich, Bad for poor
3. Urbanisation & Environmental Degradation

Infact I have collected all the topics for the last 10 years! Make sure you collect the same from me!

The first two rounds happen on Day 1. Based on your performance in writtens + essay you are short-listed for GD & PI on the same evening.

The GD & PI are held on the next day!

3. :o Group Discussion:

The topics are all Socio-Political! So start preparing on AIDS, Womens Lib, Corruption etc.

4. Personal Interview:

You are interviewed by a panel of 7 people! By the time you come out of the interview room, you are a grilled sandwich! Luckily last year, some of the panels consisted of only 3 interviewers!

TISS has one of the shortest selection procedures! Everything is over in 2 days flat! This year they were held on 5th and 6th of March.

In short, though TISS provides you with a MA degree, they see to it that everything is extracted from you till the last straw! Clearly, after such a grilling procedure, no wonder they are able to produce some of the best HR professionals!

Make sure you also take XAT and apply to XLRI...it is a crime not to apply to XLRI if you are a serious HR freak!

I hope I have answered your small query! Please keep posting! All the best!

Regards,

Manish sir
