Thumbs up How to interpret the above analysis?

Hi,

In 2007, the last student to get admitted to Bajaj (in Open Category, Home University) was Anay Dhoraje (A Peak Seekers student ). His Written score was 135 (99.87 %ile) and his final Mumbai rank was 41.

However, there was a candidate named Gautam Jain, who got admitted to Bajaj with a written score of 132 (99.75 %ile) and a final Mumbai rank of 39. This is so because, he got a whopping 35 on 40 in his GD-PI (GD - 14, PI - 16, WE - 1, PAR - 4). Now, someone should ask him what his GD centre was?

This means, it was possible to get into Bajaj (though difficult), with a percentile of 99.75 last year (with 148 people above you All India).

This year, 149 people are above you at a score 145. This means, though a remote possibility, everyone above 145 stands a realistic chance of getting Bajaj, but should give more than 100% in their GD-PI.

Also, one should look at the other side of the story. Last year another student (name witheld) with a written score of 139 and a percentile of 99.95 (30 All India students above her), landed up in Sydenham with a final Mumbai Rank of 45 (GD - 9, PI - 13, PAR - 4, Total - 26). It is case of so near, yet so far! So, everyone above 150, do not take it too lightly!

Others can work out similar scenarios based on your percentile this year!

Regards,

Manish sir

Thumbs up How have the Peak Seekers students fared in CET 2008?

Hi,

Living up to the tradition, many Peak Seekers students have figured in the 99.5%ile + list even this year.

This is primarily a result of the fact that CET 2008 was a replica of Peak Seekers PrepCET's. To know about, how close the Peak Seekers tests were close to the actual CET 2008, read the following link:

Here is a list of our students (who have confirmed their scores with us), who are in the 99.5 percentile club:

Puneet Tulsyan : Written Score: 158, Percentile: 99.99

Biren Master : Written Score: 154, Percentile: 99.97

Sagar Satra: Written Score: 154, Percentile: 99.97

Ankit Prakash: Written Score: 153, Percentile: 99.95

Neerav Makwana: Written Score: 153, Percentile: 99.95

Rahul P. L.: Written Score: 153, Percentile: 99.95

Viral Vora: Written Score: 153, Percentile: 99.95

Bijoy Shah: Written Score: 152, Percentile: 99.94

Nikhil Tulsian: Written Score: 152, Percentile: 99.94

Bhupendra Vira: Written Score: 151, Percentile: 99.93

Siddhesh Jaikar: Written Score: 150, Percentile: 99.91

Ashish Shah: Written Score: 149, Percentile: 99.90

Abhishek Tibrewal: Written Score: 147, Percentile: 99.85

Rutu Shah: Written Score: 147, Percentile: 99.85

Devanshi Vaishnav: Written Score: 146, Percentile: 99.83

Vikas Kappe: Written Score: 146, Percentile: 99.83

Sonal Padgaonkar: Written Score: 145, Percentile: 99.80

Dhruvesh Sanghvi: Written Score: 145, Percentile: 99.80

Harshil Suvarnkar: Written Score: 145, Percentile: 99.80

Aditya Bagarka: Written Score: 144, Percentile: 99.77

Apurva Nahata: Written Score: 144, Percentile: 99.77

Karishma Savla: Written Score: 144, Percentile: 99.77

Kriti Tater: Written Score: 144, Percentile: 99.77

Merup Kapadia: Written Score: 143, Percentile: 99.74

Akshay Amberkar: Written Score: 142, Percentile: 99.69

Shridhar Raikar: Written Score: 142, Percentile: 99.69

Fakhri Kaydawala: Written Score: 140, Percentile: 99.57

Neelav Agarwal: Written Score: 140, Percentile: 99.57

Suhas Pinto: Written Score: 140, Percentile: 99.57

Richa Kulkarni: Written Score: 139, Percentile: 99.51

Note:

The ones marked in Blue are (according to me) in 'Suraksha Chakra' and a decent GD-PI performance should take them through Bajaj (approx 28/40)

The ones marked in Red are in 'Danger Zone' . They need a really good GD-PI round to take them through Bajaj (approx 34/40)

The ones marked in Green seem unlikely to make it to Bajaj. But they should give their best shot at GD to get into the better of the top 4 colleges.

Just to keep you informed, The GD-PI batches at Peak Seekers are starting 1st Week of April. We will keep you updated on the same.

Non-Peak Seekers students may call on 98202 27841, 2610 8001, 2610 8002 for the GD-PI batches.

Thumbs up This year's scene is similar to that in 2006 . . .

Hi,

I am surprised as to why is everyone basing his calculations on the last years results (i.e. CET 2007). The fact is that, this year's results are similar to that in 2006 (and not to that in 2007). Just have a look:

All India Rank 50: Written Score 151 in 2008 and 148 in 2006

All India Rank 100: Written Score 147 in 2008 and 145 in 2006

All India Rank 150: Written Score 144 in 2008 and 143 in 2006

All India Rank 200: Written Score 142 in 2008 and 141 in 2006

All India Rank 250: Written Score 141 in 2008 and 139 in 2006

All India Rank 300: Written Score 140 in 2008 and 138 in 2006

All India Rank 350: Written Score 139 in 2008 and 137 in 2006

All India Rank 400: Written Score 138 in 2008 and 136 in 2006

All India Rank 450: Written Score 137 in 2008 and 135 in 2006

All India Rank 500: Written Score 136 in 2008 and 134 in 2006

All India Rank 550: Written Score 134 in 2008 and 133 in 2006

All India Rank 600: Written Score 134 in 2008 and 133 in 2006

All India Rank 650: Written Score 133 in 2008 and 132 in 2006

All India Rank 700: Written Score 133 in 2008 and 132 in 2006

All India Rank 750: Written Score 132 in 2008 and 131 in 2006

All India Rank 800: Written Score 131 in 2008 and 130 in 2006

All India Rank 850: Written Score 131 in 2008 and 130 in 2006

All India Rank 900: Written Score 131 in 2008 and 129 in 2006

All India Rank 950: Written Score 130 in 2008 and 129 in 2006

All India Rank 1000: Written Score 130 in 2008 and 128 in 2006

You can see that the scores are neck to neck, with 2008 scores being 1-2 marks more than the 2006 scores.

This means, it is very much likely that final cut-off's of different institutes this year will be 1-2 more than that in 2006. Of course, this is assuming that the average performance of students in GD-PI is similar to that 2 years back!

Manish sir

Thumbs up Finally, what are the likely cut-off's for CET 2008?

Hi,

Based on the cut-off's in 2006, here are the institute-wise likely cut-off's (after GD-PI) for CET 2008:

Jamnalal Bajaj: 180
(Last Candidate in 2006: Ketki Guttikar*, Final Score: 177, Written Score: 139, 99.48 %ile, GD-PI: 38, Final MU Rank: 41)

*Note: Check out her GD-PI scores, 38/40. The exact beakup is: GD: 16, PI: 17, PAR: 4, WE: 1). Wow! No wonder she got into Bajaj at a written percentile of 99.48! This should give some hopes to even those at 142 this year. Nothing is Impossible!

Sydenham MMS: 175
(Last Candidate in 2006: Reshmi Nair*, Final Score: 173, Written Score: 139, 99.48 %ile, GD-PI: 34, Final MU Rank: 83)

*Note: Both Reshmi and Ketki had similar scores in written, i.e. 139, but one of them secured the last seat in Bajaj and the other one last seat in Sydenham. Wah re kaamdev, wah re kismet!

Welingkar: 170
(Last Candidate in 2006: Riddhi Joshi, Final Score: 168, Written Score: 137, 99.28 %ile, GD-PI: 31, Final MU Rank: 167)

Somaiya: 167
(Last Candidate in 2006: Sachin Jain, Final Score: 165, Written Score: 132, 98.64 %ile, GD-PI: 33, Final MU Rank: 229)

Sydenham PG: 166
(Last Candidate in 2006: Rohan Karkare, Final Score: 165, Written Score: 134, 98.95 %ile, GD-PI: 31, Final MU Rank: 225)

SIES: 160
(Last Candidate in 2006: Aditi Trehan, Final Score: 159, Written Score: 124, 97.04 %ile, GD-PI: 35, Final MU Rank: 410)

Dalmia: 158
(Last Candidate in 2006: Vivek Rathi, Final Score: 155, Written Score: 128, 97.94 %ile, GD-PI: 27, Final MU Rank: 534)

MET: 157
(Last Candidate in 2006: Plaha Amrit Kaur, Final Score: 157, Written Score: 122, 96.44 %ile, GD-PI: 35, Final MU Rank: 467)

Chetana's: 156
(Last Candidate in 2006: Kruti Dalal, Final Score: 157, Written Score: 130, 98.35 %ile, GD-PI: 27, Final MU Rank: 446)

IES: 154
(Last Candidate in 2006: Sonali Gokhale, Final Score: 153, Written Score: 120, 95.82 %ile, GD-PI: 33, Final MU Rank: 643)

Note that I have also factored in the changes that have happened to the Brand Value of the different institutes in the two years. For eg. Chetana closed over MET and Dalmia two years back. I believe, this year it will close behind both of them.

Thumbs up Moral of the story . . .

Hi,

Now, the above thread gives you a very clear picture of the possible colleges that you could get into!

At the end of the day, moral of the story is, 'Excel in GD-PI and get better college' (Now, that's common sense, isn't it? ).

So stop analyzing the results further, and start preparing for your GD-PI!

All the best!

Regards,

Manish sir
